Zirconia,with its molecular
formula of ZrO2, is the main oxide of zirconium. Natural minerals containing
zirconium mainly include incline zircon and zircon and so on. Zirconia is
usually a white odorless and tasteless crystal, insoluble in water,
hydrochloric acid and dilute sulfuric acid, chemically stable, and features
high hardness, high melting point, high resistivity, high refractive index and
low thermal expansion coefficient characteristics, has been widely used in
wet-resistant ceramics, refractory materials, machinery, electronics, optics,
aerospace, biology, chemistry and other fields. Our common artificial drills
and dental implants are also based on zirconia as the main material.
Zirconia provided by Nextgen Advanced
Materials has the following advantages:
1, High hardness: the hardness of zirconia
products can usually reach more than 7.5 Mohs hardness, zirconia ceramics and
other parts of the hardness of more than 9, second only to diamond. High
hardness means that it has a strong wear resistance, so zirconia ceramics are a
good anti-wear material.
2, High melting point: zirconia melting
point up to 2715℃, and chemical stability, is an excellent refractory.
3, Low thermal conductivity, low expansion
coefficient: the thermal conductivity of zirconia is low in common materials
(1.6-2.03W/(m.k)), and the coefficient of thermal expansion is close to the
metal. Therefore, zirconia ceramics are suitable for bonding ceramic materials,
such as zirconia ceramic mobile phone appearance structural parts.
4, Special conductivity: zirconia at room
temperature is not conductive, the resistivity is very large, but in a high
temperature environment, zirconia has a certain conductivity, using this
principle, zirconia is also used in many electronic devices.
